A DOLL'S HOUSE
RMIT STUDIO 2
For the studio project, I was required to create a poster, media kit and brand guideline book for a travelling play. My chosen play was A Doll's House. A Doll’s House is at its heart a political play. Written in 19th century Norway and inspired by real events, it is one of Henrik Ibsen’s famous “problem plays”, confronting the audience directly in a realistic way with the tragic consequences of an ingrained but tolerated social wrong – in this case the inequality at the heart of the modern family. I chose to use broken furniture to highlight the imperfections of relationships and family life within this story.
